Dell Technologies Partnership Supports Japan National Scale AI Infrastructure Expansion

Published:

Dell Technologies, JERA Co., Inc., and RHAELM have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advancing national scale artificial intelligence infrastructure development in Japan. The partnership brings together expertise from the energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors to support the expansion of AI computing capacity and contribute to Japan’s growing AI economy. The collaboration aims to create a foundation for large scale AI infrastructure deployment by combining technological capabilities with energy and infrastructure resources.

The MoU builds on the Chiba project, which is expected to become one of the largest AI infrastructure developments in Japan. The project is intended to serve as a model for future AI infrastructure deployments by demonstrating how advanced computing requirements can be supported through integrated approaches involving technology and infrastructure partners. As demand for AI applications continues to increase globally, organizations and governments are focusing on developing reliable, scalable, and efficient infrastructure capable of supporting high performance computing workloads. Through this collaboration, Dell Technologies will contribute its expertise in AI infrastructure and enterprise technology solutions, while JERA will bring its energy sector capabilities and RHAELM will support infrastructure development efforts. The partnership reflects the growing importance of combining different industry strengths to address the requirements of AI adoption at scale. Building AI infrastructure requires not only advanced computing systems but also reliable energy resources, operational flexibility, and scalable deployment models that can support future technology growth.

Arthur Lewis, president of Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell Technologies, highlighted the importance of establishing a strong foundation for national scale AI infrastructure. He noted that large AI deployments require infrastructure designed for control, flexibility, and growth from the beginning. Dell Technologies continues to focus on supporting organizations with solutions that enable AI adoption, data processing, and advanced computing capabilities across different industries. The partnership between Dell Technologies, JERA, and RHAELM reflects Japan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its AI ecosystem and expand computing capacity to support emerging technologies. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into business operations, research, and public services, demand for infrastructure capable of handling complex workloads continues to grow. Large scale AI infrastructure projects are expected to play an important role in enabling innovation, supporting data intensive applications, and improving access to advanced computing resources.

The collaboration also highlights the role of strategic partnerships in developing future technology environments. By combining energy expertise, infrastructure capabilities, and AI technology solutions, the organizations aim to support the development of systems that can meet the evolving needs of AI driven industries. The Chiba project represents an important step in creating scalable AI infrastructure in Japan and may provide insights for future deployments in other regions. Dell Technologies, JERA, and RHAELM will continue working together to advance AI infrastructure development through their partnership. The initiative demonstrates how collaboration between technology companies and infrastructure providers can support the expansion of AI capabilities while addressing the requirements of modern digital economies.
