CNS Engineering has officially entered into a strategic partnership with Transworld Associates (TWA) to develop the Cable Landing Station (CLS) infrastructure for the 2Africa and SMW6 submarine cable systems. The contract signing ceremony took place on October 9th, 2024, at Transworld’s Head Office, with Mr. Syed Amiruddin, EVP Engineering at Transworld, and Mr. Najam Mian, CEO of CNS Engineering, representing their respective organizations.

The new CLS is set to be a critical component of the submarine cable systems, functioning as a state-of-the-art carrier-neutral data center facility in Pakistan. This facility aims to meet the rising demand for data center services from various sectors, including public enterprises, financial institutions, academia, private companies, and content delivery network (CDN) providers.

Connecting the 2Africa submarine cable system to Pakistan is a remarkable achievement made possible by Transworld Pakistan in collaboration with an eight-member consortium that includes prominent players such as CMI, Meta, MTN, GlobalConnect, Orange, STC, Telecom Egypt, Vodafone, and WIOCC. This project will significantly boost Pakistan’s connectivity and digital capabilities.

The signing ceremony was attended by several key figures from Transworld, including Mr. Saad Muzaffar Waraich, President; Mr. Naveed Ahmed Malik, CFO; Mr. Aasif Inam, COO; Mr. Imran Yousaf, Head of Procurement; Mr. Sheikh Taimur Nawaz, Director of Marketing; and Ms. Rabya Kiani, Senior Manager Legal. CNS Engineering was represented by Mr. Nasir Mehmood, Vice President of Design; Mr. Imran Baig, Vice President of Sales; and Mr. Fawad Munir, Senior Manager of Sales.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the development of Pakistan’s telecommunications infrastructure. The establishment of the new CLS will enhance connectivity, support the country’s digital transformation, and contribute to economic growth, positioning Pakistan as a key player in the global digital economy.
