Controller General of Accounts (CGA) has successfully completed a nationwide upgrade of Pakistan’s federal and provincial financial systems, with SAP at the core and TallyMarks Consulting (TMC) serving as the trusted transformation partner. The upgrade now spans the entirety of the country’s public finance infrastructure, enabling more streamlined processes, stronger governance, and enhanced financial oversight. Senior leadership from CGA highlighted how this comprehensive transformation is reshaping public sector financial management and supporting smarter, data driven decision making across Pakistan.
The project, designed to improve transparency, accelerate financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls, represents one of the largest public sector upgrades in Pakistan’s history. By integrating SAP into the national financial ecosystem, CGA has created a unified platform that connects federal and provincial systems while standardizing operations. The upgraded infrastructure allows for faster, more accurate reporting and ensures that fiscal processes meet modern governance standards. TMC’s role was pivotal in ensuring that the deployment was executed with precision, providing technical guidance, project management, and system integration support throughout the complex rollout.
According to CGA’s leadership, TMC’s expertise and hands on approach were critical to the smooth execution of the upgrade. Key officials including Umar Ali Khan (Controller General of Accounts), Abdul Basit Jasra (DG – MIS), Zia Ul Islam Khan Niazi (DGPR – Islamabad), Muhammad Arshad Khan (ABAP Team Lead), and Owais Ahmed (Director – FABs) praised the collaborative environment maintained during the project. Their testimonials emphasized the stability and reliability of the upgraded systems, which were implemented without disruption to daily operations. The team credited TMC’s coordination and SAP’s advanced capabilities for enabling a seamless transition while meeting tight timelines and compliance requirements.
Beyond technical implementation, the project reflects a strategic push towards modernizing Pakistan’s public sector financial management. By adopting a unified SAP platform and partnering with TMC, CGA has strengthened its ability to monitor, control, and report financial data across multiple departments. The system enhances accountability, reduces operational redundancies, and supports long term planning for public finance initiatives. CGA leadership emphasized that the upgraded platform will continue to serve as a foundation for future improvements in public sector governance, positioning Pakistan to leverage technology for efficient, transparent, and effective financial management.
