Badiuddin Akber, CEO of CDC Pakistan has been elected as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depositories Group (ACG) for the three-year term of 2024-2027. This appointment was made during the ACG’s 26th Annual General Meeting held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 11, 2024.
With Badiuddin Akber’s appointment, CDC Pakistan has also become the ACG Secretariat for the same term. The ACG is a regional body comprising 41 member institutions from 27 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for CDC Pakistan and Pakistan’s presence in the global securities market. Badiuddin Akber’s leadership will enhance Pakistan’s stature within global financial and capital markets.
As the ACG Secretariat, CDC Pakistan will work closely with regional and global partners to foster collaboration, innovation, and the exchange of best practices within the securities and financial sectors.
Badiuddin Akber’s appointment will also allow him to represent the Asia-Pacific Region on the Executive Board of the World Forum of CSDs (WFC), the global body of five regional CSD associations. This further solidifies CDC Pakistan’s position as a key player in the global securities market.
