Bank Of Khyber And Wateen Telecom Sign Agreement For Secure Digital Banking Infrastructure

Bank of Khyber (BoK) has entered into a strategic partnership with Wateen Telecom Limited to strengthen its digital infrastructure through the deployment of a centralized Wi Fi solution integrated with an advanced Web Application Firewall (WAF). The collaboration is aimed at improving network performance, enhancing cybersecurity, and supporting the Bank’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives. By combining secure wireless connectivity with advanced application protection, the agreement is expected to provide a more resilient technology environment for the Bank’s operations while ensuring reliable access to its digital services.

The agreement was formally signed during a ceremony attended by senior representatives from both organizations. Rashid Khan, Chief Information Officer, and Syed Jafar Raza, Head of IT Operations, signed the agreement on behalf of Bank of Khyber, while Wateen Telecom was represented by its Chief Executive Officer Adil Rashid and Vice President Nasir Mahmood. The presence of senior leadership from both organizations highlighted the importance of the collaboration and their shared commitment to advancing secure and modern banking technology infrastructure. The partnership reflects a mutual focus on delivering technology driven solutions that support business continuity and strengthen enterprise level digital capabilities.

As part of the agreement, Wateen Telecom will deploy a centralized wireless network across Bank of Khyber offices, enabling secure, reliable, and high performance connectivity throughout the organization’s operations. The project also includes the implementation of an advanced Web Application Firewall designed to protect the Bank’s internet facing applications and digital banking platforms from evolving cyber threats. This integrated security approach is intended to enhance the overall protection of critical digital services while supporting uninterrupted access for customers and employees.
