AWS, SAP, and IBM Partner with PTCL Group to Introduce Public Cloud Services in Pakistan

PTCL and Ufone 4G have made waves in the tech world by signing a significant agreement with IBM and Amazon Web Services (AWS) during the prestigious GITEX Global Dubai, the world’s largest tech event. The objective behind this landmark collaboration is to leverage SAP for business transformation through RISE.

As pioneers in the telecommunications sector in Pakistan, PTCL and Ufone are poised to revolutionize the industry by becoming the first providers in the country to harness these services. By embracing cloud solutions, the companies aim to modernize their business processes and unlock invaluable business insights to enhance organizational efficiency.

This partnership opens up a world of possibilities for customers in Pakistan, who will now have access to a comprehensive suite of cloud services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) with Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Disaster Recovery Sites (DRS), backup and storage as a service, web hosting options, and compute on demand. Public cloud computing, facilitated by third-party cloud service providers, offers a range of services, from servers to data storage and applications, accessible online.

Furthermore, PTCL and Ufone will leverage real-time data access to streamline business operations, foster effective collaboration with partners, and deliver superior service to their customers. This move marks a significant step towards embracing digital transformation and staying ahead in an increasingly competitive market.

The agreement was formalized during GITEX Global Dubai, with Group Chief Information Officer of PTCL and Ufone, Saad Muzaffar Warraich, and Faisal Khaliq, Telecommunication Leader at IBM Middle East & Africa, signing the accord in the presence of Group CEO of PTCL and Ufone, Hatem Bamatraf, and other senior executives from both sides. #GITEXDubai and PTCL were official witnesses to this historic moment, signifying the beginning of a new era in telecommunications and cloud computing in Pakistan.
