Anthropic has extended its temporary increase in Claude Code weekly usage limits, allowing paid users to continue accessing 50% higher capacity until August 31. The additional usage allowance applies to Pro, Max, Team, and legacy seat based Enterprise users who rely on Claude Code for AI assisted software development tasks. Anthropic had previously announced that the increased limits would remain available until August 19, but the company has now extended the period to provide users with additional access to its AI coding tool.
The extended Claude Code usage limits are designed to give subscribers more flexibility while working with Anthropic’s artificial intelligence powered development assistant. Claude Code helps developers use AI capabilities within coding workflows, allowing them to complete programming tasks, analyze code, and improve development processes. The temporary increase is available across several paid subscription categories, providing additional weekly capacity without requiring users to immediately move to higher usage plans. Anthropic has not announced a permanent change to the standard limits, and the increased allowance remains a temporary adjustment currently scheduled through the end of August.
The announcement follows recent changes related to Claude Fable 5 access that Anthropic introduced on July 20. Fable 5 is now included as a standard feature for Max plans, Team Premium seats, and premium seats under legacy seat based Enterprise plans. Users under these plans can use up to 50% of their normal weekly usage limit for Fable 5 without additional charges. However, this allowance does not represent an extra 50% added on top of existing subscription limits. Instead, Fable 5 usage is counted within the same overall weekly allowance and consumes that limit faster compared with other Claude models. Once users reach the portion of their limit allocated through Fable 5 usage, they can either switch to another available model or continue using Fable 5 through paid usage credits.
For Pro and Team Standard users, Fable 5 is not included within their regular weekly subscription allowance. Instead, these subscribers can access the model through pay as you go usage credits. Anthropic announced a one time $100 usage credit for eligible Pro and Team Standard users to support the transition and provide additional access to the model. Standard seats under legacy seat based Enterprise plans may also access Fable 5 through usage credits if their organization enables the feature, although these users are not eligible for the promotional credit. Fable 5 remains available across Anthropic’s paid subscription plans, including access through Claude Code. The company’s temporary 50% increase in Claude Code weekly limits operates separately from the Fable 5 allowance and is focused specifically on expanding overall Claude Code usage capacity. With the extension until August 31, paid subscribers will continue to receive additional access while Anthropic evaluates usage patterns and manages availability across its AI development services.
