In a recent cyber incident, the website of Agha Steel Industries, a prominent steel manufacturer in Pakistan, has fallen victim to hacking. Visitors are currently being redirected to an unfamiliar webpage resembling an online shopping platform. A cautionary note advises users against clicking on any links within the redirected page due to potential malicious content.
At present, attempting to access the Agha Steel Industries website reveals the hack, with text below the images appearing to be in Croatian, as per Google Translate. Notably, the URL concludes with the “.ru” domain commonly associated with Russian websites, adding an intriguing layer to the cyber intrusion.
A formal confirmation of the hack came through a notice sent by Agha Steel to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), acknowledging the cyberattack. The notice reads:
“Our website is redirecting to another website. This is one of the web attacks. We hope to resolve it as soon as possible.”
As of now, Agha Steel has yet to regain control of its website. Updates will be provided as the situation unfolds.
