Pakistan is gearing up for its largest artificial intelligence–driven innovation challenge as the Agentic AI Hackathon 2025 begins its nationwide journey. Organized by Innovista in collaboration with Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA) and Systems Limited, the initiative is set to spark AI-powered creativity and entrepreneurship across six key cities—Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Bahawalpur, Gilgit, and Peshawar. The competition is designed to bring together over 500 participants who will collaborate to design more than 100 prototypes aimed at addressing some of Pakistan’s most pressing challenges. From advancing agricultural technology to strengthening financial innovation, enhancing public health systems, building resilient climate and disaster response mechanisms, and supporting urban infrastructure, the hackathon covers diverse and impactful domains of AI application.

This innovation drive not only focuses on creating prototypes but also provides participants with an ecosystem of support that includes expert mentorship, access to cutting-edge cloud resources, and a collaborative environment to scale ideas into viable solutions. The hackathon represents an effort to strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global AI landscape by encouraging problem-solving approaches tailored to local needs while aligning with international best practices. With AI becoming increasingly central to business models and public service delivery, the hackathon is expected to produce solutions that can support digital inclusion and unlock new pathways for sustainable growth.

A prize pool of more than PKR 1.7 million has been announced, providing strong incentives for young innovators, students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to participate in this landmark initiative. Beyond monetary rewards, the Agentic AI Hackathon is being positioned as a launchpad for future startups, giving participants the opportunity to turn prototypes into full-fledged products and services that can make a tangible difference in society. Organizers are also emphasizing the long-term impact of the event, aiming to create a network of AI innovators who can contribute to Pakistan’s digital economy and compete globally.

The nationwide scale of the event underscores the importance of decentralizing access to innovation opportunities, ensuring that talent from cities beyond the traditional hubs of Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad also receives recognition and resources. By hosting events in Bahawalpur, Gilgit, and Peshawar, the hackathon demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and to tapping into the creativity of emerging regions. With the deadline to apply set for September 4, 2025, momentum is building as students, developers, and entrepreneurs prepare to showcase their AI-driven solutions. The Agentic AI Hackathon 2025 marks a critical step in positioning Pakistan as a serious contender in the AI innovation landscape, combining the strengths of local talent with the support of leading technology stakeholders.
