PRAL leadership, including Mr. Abid Naeem (CTIO), Ms. Farheen Azhar (Head of Projects), and Mr. Rizwan Qayum (Project Manager), recently presented a detailed roadmap to Secretary Finance, Government of Baluchistan, aimed at digitizing and unifying the province’s tax collection system. The discussion centered on establishing a single integrated platform to manage multiple provincial tax types and revenue streams, ensuring that all collections are conducted in a transparent, efficient, and standardized manner. The initiative reflects a broader alignment with FBR’s vision for a nationwide, technology-driven approach to taxation and governance.
The proposed platform would serve as a centralized mechanism to oversee end-to-end tax processes across all provincial departments. By digitizing tax collection, monitoring, and reporting, the system is expected to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual interventions, and minimize discrepancies. PRAL emphasized that real-time visibility into tax data will strengthen governance, accountability, and compliance, enabling decision-makers to access actionable insights while maintaining alignment with national digital initiatives. The roadmap also highlights the importance of integrating all provincial revenue streams into a cohesive system to eliminate redundancies and enhance administrative oversight.
Officials from PRAL highlighted that the initiative is closely tied to the Digital Pakistan program, aiming to leverage modern technology to improve public financial management. The platform is designed to support evidence-based decision-making while ensuring transparency in revenue collection. By offering a unified digital interface for tax administration, the project will not only streamline processes for government officials but also simplify compliance for taxpayers, ultimately fostering trust and efficiency within the fiscal system. The leadership team also noted that technical aspects of the platform would incorporate secure data handling, real-time reporting, and interoperability with other provincial and national digital systems.
PRAL reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Baluchistan’s digital transformation and the broader modernization of public sector financial management. The roadmap presentation to the Secretary Finance reflects a strategic approach toward technology-enabled governance, with the potential to serve as a model for other provinces in integrating taxation, compliance, and monitoring through centralized digital platforms. By adopting such technology-driven solutions, Baluchistan aims to enhance transparency, reduce administrative bottlenecks, and ensure consistent, efficient revenue collection that aligns with national objectives.
This collaborative approach underlines PRAL’s role in advancing government digitalization while enabling provincial authorities to implement modern, accountable, and technology-backed financial management systems.
