PITB And PCNF Partner To Implement Comprehensive IT Systems For Enhanced Operations In Punjab

Published:

Lahore – Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (PCNF) have formalized a Service Level Agreement (SLA) aimed at implementing an extensive suite of IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency within PCNF. Signed by PITB Additional Director General Syed Qasim Ifzal and PCNF Deputy Director General Lt. Col. Sarfaraz Khan, the agreement represents a coordinated effort between the two bodies to embed digital systems into the core functions of PCNF. Senior officials including Brig. Mazhar Iqbal, Director General of PCNF, were present at the ceremony which underscored the importance of leveraging technology to support institutional objectives.

Under the scope of this SLA, PITB will deploy several digital platforms designed to streamline internal processes. This includes the introduction of a Human Resource System (HRS) to manage personnel information and a Station Management System (SMS) to enhance record-keeping and operational oversight within PCNF. Additionally, PITB will develop an official website for PCNF, creating an online hub for public information and services. Dedicated call center services will also be established, improving communication channels between PCNF and the public while facilitating more responsive service delivery. These combined efforts are intended to strengthen the technological backbone of PCNF, supporting its counter-narcotics mandate through improved coordination and data management.

Beyond system deployment, PITB will provide structured training programs to PCNF staff to ensure they can effectively utilize the new digital tools. The training component is seen as a key aspect of the project, equipping personnel with the skills necessary to adapt to the new infrastructure. In addition to training, PITB has committed to delivering continuous technical support to maintain secure, reliable, and efficient operations across all deployed systems. This ongoing support will cover troubleshooting, updates, and system optimization over the duration of the project, ensuring sustainability and consistent performance.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf highlighted in his remarks that the collaboration reflects a commitment to strengthening public sector institutions through technology. By introducing modern IT systems into PCNF’s operations, the initiative seeks to improve transparency, governance, and service delivery in Punjab’s law enforcement and counter-narcotics efforts. The agreement also signals a growing focus on integrating digital infrastructure into traditionally non-technical departments, demonstrating how tailored IT solutions can address sector-specific challenges. With the deployment of these systems and the provision of training and support, PCNF is positioned to improve internal workflows and enhance coordination with stakeholders, making its operations more effective and accessible.
